In response to an enquirer on my facebook site.

  • Hello Iris . I use a spooky medium. Sorry lass. All my art if you follow closely on my sites is created digitally. In the most recent cases including this one. I am taking a quick snap with my phone camera. The I am using certain software together with 40 years of knowledge of impressionism to try and recreate a small echo of the great French impressionists. Many of them believed in capturing a moment in time and the light effects shining in that moment of time. I believe that many of them if alive today would take advantage of the modern digital camera. To capture the subject and the light before it changes would please Monet . Following up with a touch of studio work would have made Manet Degas and Latterly Cezanne happy. Nearly half a century ago I used oil acrylic gouche and watercolours with limited success. I now know what I am doing and god willing will master the techniques over the next 12 months. Whether the world wants it or indeed is ready for it matters little... A new kind of digital impressionism is on the way. Nigel.
